Following on from two-hero films and supporting roles in his initial movies such as ‘Guzaarish’ (2010) and ‘Action Replayy’ (2010), Aditya Roy Kapur has expressed that he probably won’t do such films from now on. The actor’s first solo hero film, ‘Aashiqui 2’ (2013), changed the way filmmakers saw him.

Talking to IANS, Kapur said, “I feel so grateful that Aashiqui 2۪ came to my life and changed things for me… I doubt I۪ll play second lead again”.

The actor, who busy with the forthcoming ‘Fitoor’, also commented, “Right now I am going through a time where people are offering me good roles and films. If I continue to be lucky, work hard and do well, I guess I۪ll continue doing this. But I۪m not setting anything in head. If I۪ve an interesting small role in a film with a director I۪d love to work with, I might do it”.

Kapur also spoke about whether he would ever follow in his brother Siddharth’s footsteps and turn producer one day, ”

I don۪t think I۪ve the brain to produce films. That۪s a different ballgame. But the more films I do, the more I realise how tough it۪s to direct. It۪s man-management thing… you need to have knowledge about every aspect of filmmaking. And most importantly you need to have something to say. Right now I۪m still learning how to do this job properly. But I do have a passion for it. Maybe, someday”.

‘Fitoor’ is directed by Abhishek Kapoor and is a Hindi adaptation of ‘Great Expectations’ by Charles Dickens.
