Aditya Roy Kapur & Anil Kapoor to star in Hotstar’s ‘The Night Manager’ remake?

Disney+ Hotstar’s Indian adaptation of the British mini-series, ‘The Night Manager’ (2016), that starred Tom Hiddleston, has been in development for a year. The spy drama series was due to mark the OTT debut of Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan, who was said to be paid a sum or around 75 cores. However, the project was put on hold after Roshan walked out of the project before production was due to begin. However, according to reports, Aditya Roy Kapur and Anil Kapoor have now been secured to take over the lead roles.

The Hindi remake, which is backed by Preity Zinta, in association with Banijay Asia, would mark Aditya’s OTT debut. He would play the role of a luxury hotel night manager and former Indian soldier, while Anil will play the role of an arms dealer masquerading as a business magnate, reports PeepingMoon.

Sandeep Modi, who co-directed Ram Madhvani’s ‘Aarya,’ has been brought on board to direct the six-part Indian adaptation. The series is expected to go on floors in the first quarter of next year.

‘The Night Manager’ marks Aditya and Anil’s second collaboration after Mohit Suri’s thriller, ‘Malang’ (2020). It also marks Anil’s return to the OTT space after featuring in two Netflix films — Vikramaditya Motwane’s ‘AK Vs AK’ (2020), and the forthcoming thriller ‘Thar,’ that sees him alongside his son Harshvardhan Kapoor and Fatima Sana Shaikh.

Meanwhile, Aditya will soon resume the last schedule of Ahmed Khan’s action drama ‘Om: The Battle Within.’
