Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra starrer ‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’ was announced with much fervor, and was also wrapped up pretty quickly in January of last year, but has yet to hit screens. Rumor has it that producer Aditya Chopra is not happy with the final edit of the film and it could possibly, finally release in June.
A source spoke to Mirror, saying, “It was a promising script but did not translate well on screen. They were trying to salvage it during the editing, but eventually certain portions have had to be reshot towards the end of last year which is why it’s been in limbo for so long. It was to release before India’s Most Wanted, Arjun’s true-life espionage thriller which is scheduled for May 24, but will arrive only after that.”
When contacted, a spokesperson for Yash Raj Films denied the rumors, saying, “This is completely untrue, a baseless rumour. Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar is a different, edgy, multiplex film and it needs to be released accordingly.”
‘Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar’ is directed by Dibakar Banerjee.
