Actor Sanjay Dutt will not be pardoned by court

Sanjay Dutt’s request to be pardoned by a Maharashtra court has been rejected.

NDTV reports that the 2013 petition was filed by former Supreme Court judge Markandey Katju to pardon for the actor. The court said it would set a bad precedent as the actor’s conviction was confirmed by the Supreme Court.

Dutt has been criticised recently for his frequent breaks from prison. The actor is currently on parole for his daughter’s nose surgery.

He is expected to be released around February 2016.
