ABP News has signalled its return in the UK market by starting official EPG data testing off the Sky Digital EPG platform.

After eight years of association, Star TV India and the Ananda Bazaar Patrika (ABP) Group parted ways resulting in the rebranding of Star News to ABP News. Last year, Media Content and Communication (MCCS) announced that Hindi news channel, Star News will be rebranded to ABP News. It was available in the UK up until November last year.

The channel will be distributed by Globosat, which currently operates Sahara One in the UK. Rumour has it that the channel will be replacing an existing service on the Sky Digital EPG but this is yet to be confirmed.

ABP News will join an already saturated UK market of news channels including NDTV 24×7, Aaj Tak, ZEE News and the soon-to-launch News18 India channel from TV18.

ABP News launches on the Sky Digital platform in July.

The tests can be viewed at the following parameters below:
-> Using your Sky Digi remote, go to Services Menu
-> Select System Setup
-> Select Add Channels
-> Enter frequency: 12.560 (V), FEC: 2/3, SR: 27500
-> Find Channels and Press SELECT
-> Highlight ���54167? service and press Yellow button
-> Return to Services Menu
-> Other Channels (6) on STB / (8) on Sky+
-> ���54167? should be listed and available
