Abhishek to play stockbroker Harshad Mehta in Ajay Devgn production?

News circulating around the industry is that Abhishek Bachchan will portray the role of stockbroker Harshad Mehta in a film to be produced by Ajay Devgn. The infamous Mehta was charged with numerous financial crimes associated with the securities scam of 1992.

The film is being directed by Kookie Gulati and will have Ileana D’Cruz as the leading lady. Devgn and Bachchan have worked together in several films including ‘Bol Bachchan’ (2012) and ‘LOC Kargil’ (2003).

Earlier this year there were reports about Devgn and director Indra Kumar planning a film on Mehta to be titled ‘The Big Bull.’ But now it’s Gulati who’s helming the project, reports CineBlitz. Apart from this venture, filmmaker Hansal Mehta too is making a web series on the same disgraced stockbroker. Titled ‘Scam,’ it is based on Sucheta Dalal’s book.
