Abhishek Kapoor to direct ‘Magadheera’ remake starring Shahid Kapoor?

Abhishek Kapoor is currently busy with ‘Fitoor’, a Hindi adaptation of the famous Charles Dickens’ novel ‘Great Expectations’. However, news has it that he may soon be helming the Hindi remake of 2009 Telugu film ‘Magadheera’. The film is due to star Shahid Kapoor as male lead.

Producer Sajid Nadiadwala was apparently yet to decide on a director for the film and when ‘Baahubali’ (2015) director SS Rajamouli rejected Nadiadwala’s approach, it seems Abhishek was the next choice for the film.

Although an official confirmation is still awaited, it seems Nadiadwala is hoping to see ‘Fitoor’ hit the right chord with the audiences and at the box office before he finalises the deal.
