Abhishek Kapoor signs Ayushmann Khurrana to play cross-functional athlete

With the variety of roles Ayushmann Khurrana has taken on, there doesn’t seem to be anything he can’t do. Always eager for a challenge, news has it Abhishek Kapoor has signed the actor to play a cross-functional athlete, where he will undergo a huge transformation.

“Ayushmann will have to undergo a physical transformation for this role. It’s quite a challenge and he’s committed to it,” Times of India reports the film maker stating.

Taking of the hope that cinemas will be open by the time this yet to be titled project is released, he went on to say, “This film is special for both Ayushmann and me. We want audiences to come back to theatres and watch movies as a community. And, we will spare no effort to achieve that.”

Khurrana himself also went on to express, “Abhishek has a distinct voice in cinema today, and I’m glad that we finally got the opportunity to work together on a project that’s close to my heart. This beautiful love story will take viewers on an emotional roller-coaster ride and it is a total family entertainer.”
