Abhishek Kapoor puts ‘Mahabharata’ on hold

With the release of ‘Kedarnath’ just a few days away from release, Abhishek Kapoor is said to have put his next film ‘Mahabharata’ on-hold.

According to Deccan Chronicle, the two-part project has been put on the back-burner due to changes at Disney, who will be producing the film.

Talking to the publication, Kapoor said, “We did a couple of drafts and I was excited about the project. But at the moment, nothing is happening on that front. I think Disney also had a little bit of a shuffle. Let’s see, maybe I will come back to that. I would love to make it, so let’s see how we go about it.”

Reports say that the first part of ‘Mahabharata’ was expected to end with a climax featuring one of the Pandavas and the Kauravas, while the second part would depict the war. The film has been in the news for some time.
