Abhishek Kapoor moves court against Farhan Akhtar to stop ‘Rock On’ sequel

Abhishek Kapoor made his directorial debut with ‘Rock On’ (2008), produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani’s Excel Entertainment. Now that a sequel appears to be on the cards, Kapoor has moved Bombay High Court against the production company against a second instalment.

Kapoor is believed to be upset that he has not been creditted at all for the new script which he claims he has co-written with��Pubali Chaudhuri. According to Mumbai Mirror, the suit filed claims, “Excel made several allegations which are not only false but contrary to the records and the emails exchanged between the parties. For the first time, Excel alleged that they have engaged Chaudhuri solely to write the story and screenplay of Rock On 2”.

Kapoor says that he tried to contact Chaudhuri about the script but it appears that it was officially registered only in the latter’s name which is why the former has filed a suit.

The hearing of the case is expected on 18th March.
