Abhishek Kapoor finally gets credit for ‘Rock On 2’

Abhishek Kapoor, the director of ‘Rock On!!’ (2008) had taken writer Purbali Chaudhari and producer Farhan Akhtar to Bombay High��Court, for joint story credit��of the sequel to the 2008 film. The court has ruled in Kapoor’s favor, and has granted him joint opening credit for ‘Rock On 2’.

As according to TOI, the opening credits will state Kapoor as the writer of ‘Rock On!! 2’, while Chaudhari will be given credit for the screenplay only. Kapoor’s lawyers had argued that the story for the sequel was a “collaborative effort” and the mail exchanges between Kapoor and Chaudhari were also presented as evidence.��Kapoor’s lawyer had also argued��that this was��not��a��money matter, but his right as an author.

‘Rock On 2’ is directed by Shujaat Saudagar,��and filming has started in Shillong. It��will star Akhtar and Shraddha Kapoor in lead roles, and is slated to release in September of 2016.
