Currently in the midst of preparing for his film ‘Zila Ghaziabad’, which releases today, Anand Kumar is already thinking of his next project. Thinking ahead, he already knows that he wants Abhishek Bachchan to come on board as the lead.
Titled ‘Meerut Junction‘, Times of Indiareport the filmmaker commenting, “I am almost ready with the script of my next film ‘Meerut Junction‘.It is a very rural film and I want to cast Abhishek Bachchan in it. We are constantly in touch with him and even he has liked the script. If things fall in place, we will start rolling soon.”
Bachchan’s filmography plays host to the very versatile characters that he has played, however, Kumar believes that this role is one that audiences will not have seen the actor play before. “Abhishek is a wonderful actorand the role in‘Meerut Junction‘is a very rustic one, which we haven’t seen him playing. The character in the film would be similar to the role that Amitabh Bachchan plays in ‘Kaalia’ (1981).So it would be apt to cast Abhishek in the film,” Kumar goes onto add.
Alhough not much else has been revealed about the new project, Kumar already seems to be setting the stakes high with Bachchan’s character alone. Here’s hoping he doesn’t raise the stakes too high too soon.
