News that ‘Jigarthanda’ (2014), a Tamil Indian black comedy, was to be remade in Bollywood must have excited a few as would have news that Farhan Akhtar was to play a lead role. Interestingly, it’s now being said that he’s been replaced by Abhishek Bachchan in the project.
According to Deccan Chronicle, as Akhtar decided not to be a part of the film, the makers are now in conversation with Bachchan to take his part. “Ever since Farhan decided to not be part of this project, the makers were looking at the right casting. Abhishek has been approached for this film, and he seems to have liked the script,” a source was reported stating.
Also starring Sanjay Dutt, it is said that the main character and the part in question are those of a film director and a gangster. The project is to be directed by Nishikant Kamat.
