Abhishek Bachchan launches official NBA online store

Abhishek Bachchan launched India’s first official online store of the National Basketball Association (NBA) yesterday in Mumbai.

Bachchan who is a well-known sports enthusiast told NDTV, “I am a big fan of basketball and the NBA. I attended my first NBA match in Los Angeles as a 6-year-old when my father (Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan) was recuperating there after his accident in 1982 (he was injured during the filming of Hindi movie Coolie). I have played basketball in school and even captained my team and used to practice for two-three hours daily.”

The store, which is NBA’s first venture in India, has been introduced in alliance with Jabong and will offer over 200 NBA merchandises including shorts, jerseys and T-shirts for both men and women.

Bachchan also expressed interest in launching women’s Kabaddi league.
