Abhishek Bachchan hates being a producer

Abhishek Bachchan Bluffmaster

While many producers in Bollywood enjoy churning out a number of films a year, including actors who have turned producers, Abhishek Bachchan claims to hate producing films.

Speaking to DNA India, Bachchan said,”I don’t like production. I hate being a producer. Very honestly. I enjoy the pre-production part of it, but once the film goes on the floors, I absolutely hate it. Predominantly because when I did ‘Paa’, I was very conflicted between being the producer and the actor. The actor in me wanted to do one more take, but the producer in me kepy saying, “Okay, we are running out of time”. I didn’t like that.”

In recent times, leading Bollywood production houses such as Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions have grown immensely and have been producing multiple films a year. Actors like Shah Rukh Khan also tend to produce almost every film they star in.

Bachchan, who was last seen on the big screen in ‘Happy New Year’ (2014), is currently busy shooting for ‘All Is Well’ alongside Rishi Kapoor. As producer, Bachchan’s last project was ‘Shamitabh’ (2015), starring his father Amitabh Bachchan, Dhanush and Akshara Haasan.
