Abbas-Mustan’s next with Saif Ali Khan – Parineeti Chopra shelved
The Indian adaption of Alexandre Dumas’s adventure novel ‘The Count of Monte Cristo’, which was set to be directed by Abbas Mustan, has been shelved due to scripting issues.
Mumbai Mirror reports that Saif Ali Khan, who was going to be paired with Parineeti Chopra in the film, said he was not keen on doing the film as it would be too similar to Abbas-Mustan’s previous action thrillers and not any different to the adapations of this novel tried out earlier.
Producer Sunil Khetrapal said, “Saif and Abbas-Mustan will remain on board but I will make different films with them. It’s just that this combo is not happening for me, neither is the desi adaptation of The Count Of Monte Cristo.”
