Abbas-Mustan irked at John Abraham

Abbas-Mustan are believed to have been working on the script of a film based on the Nanavati case which includes a love story and a murder. John Abraham is all set to act in and produce a film based on the case, which happened in 1959, much to the surprise of the director duo who were all set to direct it. It seems that Abraham paid an extra amount for the movie which was what the writers were lured by.

Abbas-Mustan had wanted Abraham to play the male lead in the film which they were scripting and it was thought that they and writer Vipul wanted Nargis Fakhri to essay the role of the wife. A source told Mumbai Mirror, He was very excited and told Abbas-Mustan that he would soon discuss his remuneration with Shemaroo۝. News then has it that Abraham asked for a considerable amount to be a part of the film and there was no agreement arrived at.

After that, it is being said that Abraham then went ahead and bought the script from Vipul something that stunned Abbas-Mustan, It is difficult to establish whether it was John or Vipul who came up with the idea that John should produce the film. But it is clear that John had been in frequent touch with the writer after his meeting with the production house didn’t work out۝.

Mustan confirmed the reports and his disappointment, We had worked very hard on the script with Vipul. We spent many spent months fleshing out the concept and were in talks with art director Nitin Desai to recreate the Mumbai of the late ’50s. We are very hurt with what happened but there’s little we can do about it now. All we can say is that we would have made a far better film۝.

Shemaroo Entertainment confirmed that Abraham offered a very worthy amount and this is how he ended up as producer.
