‘Aankhen 2’ hits financial roadblock?

Recently, Anees Bazmee confirmed that ‘Aankhen 2’ was on the cards. As the cast became locked and other details were also finalised somewhat, it seems the film as now his financial trouble. BizAsia has learnt that there is trouble finding investors for the venture.

“The makers of Aankhen first announced its sequel without having a starcast on board. They did approach Akshay Kumar for a whopping amount Rs 50 crore plus, but he refused to do the film. Then followed names of actors like Anil Kapoor, John Abraham, Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani, half of whom have either turned down the film or whose names were just thrown in for publicity. The project is not going anywhere as of now,” said a source, according to Spotboye.

Interestingly, producer Gaurang Doshi has said the film will be kickstarting next week and has denied any issues with investment.
