Popular filmmaker Aanand L Rai, known for his blockbuster franchise ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ has confirmed that his next film will be partly shot in Pakistan.
The film, which will see ‘Cocktail’ actress, Diana Penty return to the silver screen, is paired with Abhay Deol.
Talking about the developments, Rai told Mumbai Mirror, “Yes, it’s a light-hearted romcom based in Amritsar and Lahore. The two cities are close to each other and we do wish to shoot certain portions in Pakistan. We have applied for permissions.”
Asked how he felt about other films being rejected permission to film in Pakistan, he said, “Mine is a fun film and it does not raise any political issues.”
The film also stars Ali Fazal. It goes on the floors by first week of September.
