Aamir Khan’s ‘Raakh’ to be re-released
Re-releasing films seems to have become quite the fad these days, with the evergreen classic Sholay۪ (1975) having also re-released earlier this year in the 3D format. Films such as Mugal-E-Azam۪ (1960), Naya Daur۪ (1957) and Hum Dono۪ (1961) have also had re-releases over the years. The latest to join this list is the Aamir Khan starrer, Raakh۪ (1989).
It was my first film and I loved working on it. With Pankaj, Supriya, Aamir and others for company, it was a great experience and I remember being really excited to do something different, cinematographer-turned-director Santosh Sivan said to Mid Day.
The film will be digitally remastered, re-framed and re-edited before its second theatrical release sometime later this year.
A release date has not yet been finalised.
