Aamir Khan’s ‘Mahabharta’ gathers momentum

Rumours have been circulating recently of Aamir Khan’s biggest and most ambitious project, ‘Mahabharta,’ moving ahead with an estimated budget of Rs 1,000 crore over a span of 10 years. And looks like a step has been taken forward to convert Khan’s vision into reality as the superstar has reportedly got funding confirmed.

According to reports, Mukesh Ambani has agreed to co-produce the epic feature, reports Spotboye.

By Ambani facilitating Khan’s vision for the movie, it will be the combination of arguably Bollywood’s biggest star with India’s biggest businessman to offer the Indian film industry’s biggest film.

Khan has been toying with the idea for a long time, and has been vocal about how it’s his unfulfilled dream to make ‘Mahabharta.’ It was last year when the project gained momentum and Khan’s attention. He even pulled out of Sidharth Roy Kapur’s venture – astronaut Rakesh Sharma’s biopic- after signing the film, something which a professional like Khan is, has never done.

Khan tried to help the makers by requesting Shah Rukh Khan to take his place, who graciously agreed. However, this had not gone down well with Sharma as he was keen on Khan playing the role.
