Aamir Khan’s ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’ postponed until April 2021?

With the coronavirus pandemic impacting global businesses, it now seems filmmakers in India are focusing on new release dates for their films. Reports say that a number of upcoming films will either be released on digital platforms, or have their release dates pushed back.

According to a report by Box Office Worldwide, the Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan starrer ‘Laal Singh Chaddha’, scheduled for a Christmas 2020 release, will now be shifted to April 2021. As reported earlier on BizAsiaLive.com, Atul Kulkarni, who wrote the film, hinted that it may get shifted to 2021. The film is only 60% complete as it stands.

A source was cited saying, “The unit was to head to Chandigarh for another round of filming. The shoot was moving like clockwork, and Aamir was hoping to release the first teaser around Diwali. However, the lockdown has put the brakes on his plans. Even if the shoots resume by August or September, it is unlikely that the movie will hit screens by December. It may target April 2021 for release.”
