John Mathew Matthan has hit a roadblock with ‘Sarfarosh 2’ as John Abraham steps away from the project they were working on as co-producers.
Abraham was excited about ‘Sarfarosh 2’ while revealing his involvement about a year ago, “John Mathew Matthan and I are co-producing the film. We are still working on the script but yes it’s happening with me. We plan to go on floors next year. He is probably the only director whose house I went to after seeing ‘Sarfarosh’ (1999) and said, ‘Man, what a film’.”
However, Matthan has now shared that Abraham is not a part of the film, “I never confirmed that John is doing my film, nor did I mention any other actor’s name to the media. I am not aware of what he has said. We were in negotiation, but, as of now, nothing has materialised. I am currently giving the finishing touches to the script. Only once we sign someone will I be able to comment on the casting.”, Mid-Day reported.
According to a source, Matthan is now searching for a replacement. “John Matthan is keen on approaching Aamir Khan again but is not sure if he will agree. He has someone in mind as well and we may see an announcement soon once he wraps the script,” the source told Sanskriti Media. Khan played the lead role in ‘Sarfarosh’ (1999) 20 years ago.
