Its been a game of musical chairs at the helm of ‘Mogul’, a film based on T-Series founder, Gulshan Kumar.

The film initially was announced with Akshay Kumar as its lead star. He however, exited the project, with murmurs of Aamir Khan joining the film. Later, he also dropped out of the project after its director Subhash Kapoor was dragged into the #MeToo movement. Since then, he’s been cleared of any sexual misconduct, resulting in Khan returning to the project.

Bhushan Kumar of T-Series confirmed the news to The Indian Express but refused to say whether Khan would also star in the film as well as produce it. He said, “I can’t say anything about it right now. Now, I am very comfortable about it because I know the film is happening and with the best person who looks (laughs) like my father. There is no ambiguity in that. So, I am very happy about that.”

The film’s cast will be announced in July.

‘Mogul’ is due to release in 2021.
