The immensely talented Aamir Khan is gearing up for the release of his forthcoming PK۪ later this month. However, recently, he had been in the news as teaming up with filmmaker Karan Johar. While fans and well-wishers were excited by the news, it seems this collaboration may well never happen in reality.
It is thought that Johar was working on a Partition film, a venture which was a passion of his father Yash۪s. He wanted Khan to be a part of the film and re-wrote the script with him in mind. However, a source told Hindustan Times, Since Karan has never worked with Aamir before, he gave away the Partition script to Abhishek Varman, whose last film was 2 States. He then began working on a new script for Aamir, which was a mature love story.
As the project was being developed, Aamir felt that he didn۪t want to do the film anymore, and informed Karan about his decision. Karan didn۪t know how to go about the project without Aamir as he was working on it keeping him in mind. So, Karan got a new idea for a film and decided to make that one instead. That is how the Ranbir-Aishwarya-Anushka film came into being,” continued the source.
One wonders whether Johar will not work with Khan again after this rather unfortunate set of circumstances.
