Aamir Khan calls ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ role his most challenging to date

He’s played a multitude of diverse characters, and audiences may have thought he could do no more but Aamir Khan signed up to play one of his most out-of-the-box characters yet, in Vijay Krishna Acharya’s ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ (2018). However, as interesting as the role may be, Khan recently revealed it was his most challenging piece of work to date.

“It is one of the toughest roles I have taken up. Not only this, but this is a very unreliable character who can do anything at anytime especially for money, and this is entertaining and fun to watch,” Pinkvilla reports the actor expressing.

Khan went on to express his experience working with megastar Amitabh Bachchan in the film, with who he’s sharing the big screen for the first time, “It is the first time that we have shared a screen together. I am a huge fan of Amit Ji. Infact, I was so nervous for the first shot. It’s been like 30 years and I was really looking forward to work together. He is such a warm and generous person, and I loved working with him.”

Now having mastered the craft behind the camera as well, Khan also spoke of how he feels to still be an integral part of the film industry all these years. “I had never thought that I would stay this long in the industry considering the shelf life for actors which is usually 6-8 years. Moreover, I am happy about the fact that I have been able to form great relationships in the industry; I also understand my audience and have developed a kind of deep and non-tangible connection with them,” the actor-producer explained.

Also starring Fatima Sana Shaikh and Katrina Kaif, ‘Thugs of Hindostan’ which is out now in theatres.
