Aamir Khan whose remarks on the growing intolerance in India have brought him criticism not only from leaders of BJP, other Hindu groups, but also from the celebs, has supposedly asked his wife Kiran and their son Azad to leave Mumbai for some time for safety reasons, as confirmed by a source close to his family.

The source told IANS, “Aamir has asked Kiran to leave Mumbai for 2-3 days since he has been worried about her safety. They have decided to not talk further on this issue. The actor feels that he has already expressed his opinion on the matter and has nothing to clarify.”

Khan is being attacked by the BJP and other groups for saying that his wife Kiran Rao came up with the suggestion of leaving India due to the number of communal incidents in the country. This remark of him resulted in protests outside his residence in Mumbai as well in Patna. Also, few Hindu activists painted his posters black and then set them ablaze.

Along with this, acomplaint has been registered against the actor at a police station in New Delhi over his inflammatory remarks. On one hand when others are protesting against the actor, he received support from the opposition party Congress and Aam Aadmi Party.
