Aamir Khan accused of allying with “enemies of India”

Aamir Khan has become a subject of attack for the right wing yet again. This time he is being targeted for allegedly “forging friendships with those that are considered enemies of India”.

The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Hindu group is spearheading this conversation through their magazine by addressing Khan’s ties with Turkey and China as a betrayal to India, Asian Age reported. According to their editor, “Aamir seems to be the favourite of the Chinese Communist Party system and the fact his movies are doing so well is an indication that he is being promoted by Chinese state.” He is a brand ambassador for Chinese smartphone company Vivo and has been successful at the box office with films like ‘Dangal’ (2016).

Khan recently attracted negative attention after photos of his meeting with Ermine Erdogan, wife of Turkey’s President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, became public.
