The UK’s only Hindi news channel, Aaj Tak has re-started its timesharing programming with sister channel, Headlines Today – both from TV Today Network.
The change means Aaj Tak will broadcast its Hindi service between 06:00 – 18:00 and the English output will air between 18:00 – 06:00. The channel had experimented this earlier this in June, which was reverted back to solely Hindi a few weeks later.
The Headlines Today schedule will consist of popular current affair programming like CentreStage۪, India Reports۪, News Night۪, NightLine۪, EQ۪ and SQ۪.
The main reason behind the change is likely to attract a larger audience in the UK, which will reflect the BARB ratings. Aaj Tak has recently joined BARB, with official data being reported this week.
Since ABP News left the UK market last week, Aaj Tak remains the UK’s only Hindi news service. Aaj Tak will begin its marketing blitz in the new year.
