Aaj Tak acquires old Prime TV Sky EPG slot

Popular Hindi news channel, Aaj Tak has moved to the Sky EPG previously occupied by Prime TV.

Aaj Tak is now available on Sky EPG 713, much lower down the EPG to its old EPG slot of 738. Interestingly, Prime TV, which was available on 713, has moved at the end of the International EPG category, on Sky channel 783.

This is the second time this year that the two channels have moved after Sky issued new EPG slots earlier this year. What makes this interesting is that Prime TV has not swapped with Aaj Tak but instead been shifted to the end of the International category.

Aaj Tak is hoping to garner more eyeballs in its new EPG slot. It is now placed near to bigger Indian channels like Star Plus, Sony TV, Colors and ZEE TV.

A spokesperson for Aaj Tak UK confirmed that it had acquired the former Prime TV EPG slot but the fee was not disclosed.
