News broadcasters Aaj Tak and News18 India have launched special series on the river Ganga.
The Aaj Tak show, which took to the air on Monday 14th July at 20:30, will air Monday to Saturday. It will feature a campaign that will highlight different aspects of the holy river ranging from people۪s religious beliefs regarding the river, the history, the economy and the problems that the river is facing today. Har Har Gangay۪ aims to give a new direction to the national movement to save Ganga, as the show۪s tagline clearly declares Ganga Ko Bachaana Hai۪. The 12-part series will also attempt to offer a solution to the problems in the form of suggestions from people in every episode.
Meanwhile, Saving the Ganga۪ is News18 India۪s definitive 5-part documentary starting Saturday 18th July, that showcases India۪s holiest and mightiest river, the Ganga, right from its source high up in the mountains at Gangotri, through its long journey through the heart of India, till the point at Sagar island where it finally empties into the Bay of Bengal. Each episode will deal with themes of ecology, history, and challenges of Ganga, garnished with interesting local anecdotes and trivia. ‘Saving The Ganga’ will air Saturdays at 16:00 and 20:00 and Sundays at 18:30 and 22:30.
