Aaj Tak & Geo present dual telecast of Modi-Sharif

In a first, India’s leading news channel, Aaj Tak and Pakistan’s popular Geo News service have joined hands to bring viewers coverage of Pakistan Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif meeting India’s new Prime Minister, Narendra Modi.

The dual telecast, which was broadcast this morning (UK) shows perspective from both sides of the rivals AS Modi takes his first day in office. Aaj Tak’s coverage presented by Punya Prasun Bajpai is bringing domestic opinion, while Pakistan’s coverage is hosted by Ayesha Bakhsh on Geo News.

Earlier today, the powerful men shook hands and smiled before a meeting, which lasted just under an hour. Yesterday, Mr Sharif attended Mr Modi’s swearing-in ceremony.

As the two countries seem to have made a new start under India’s new government, lets see how much this translates in the media and moreover on India and Pakistan television. Seeing Geo News and Aaj Tak working together seems to be a good start.
