Aaj Tak clarifies stance after being accused of biasness in Sushant’s story

India’s leading Hindi news channel, Aaj Tak has been forced to clarify its stance after it was accused of being biased in the ongoing Sushant Singh Rajput’s death story.

Aaj Tak was one of a small number of news channels to broadcast an interview with the main accused, Rhea Chakraborty before she was arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB). The channel has since been accused of orchestrating the interview to portray Chakraborty in a much more positive light. However, Aaj Tak has refuted these claims.

In a social media post by Aaj Tak, it put out two claims:
– Tak portrayed Sushant Singh Rajput as the culprit and Rhea Chakraborty as innocent.
– Tak provided Rhea Chakraborty a platform to peddle lies and mask the truth.

Reacting to these claims, the popular news channel said, “It is not for Aaj Tak to pass a judgement on an ongoing investigation. Journalism demands we raise questions and not pass verdicts. We have full faith that CBI, NCB, ED and courts are more than capable of doing their jobs. Those ascribing these lies to us are not only defaming Tak but journalism as a whole.”
