Set to follow the footsteps of his family, Aadar Jain will soon make his debut as an actor in Habib Faisal’s ‘Qaidi Band’. However unlike his cousins Ranbir Kapoor, Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan, Jain didn’t have acting on his mind at all when he was young.
“People think that I come from a film family, so I always wanted to do it. While growing up, I had no clue about acting and all. I was a back-bencher and a poor student. I never had an inclination towards studies, but I love sports,” Deccan Chronicle reports Jain expressing.
Talking of how he discovered his own talent for acting, he went on to explain, “I played drums and theatre is a big part of my life, not because I wanted to become an actor, but I wanted to bunk my classes. That’s when I thought I would be an actor. I told my parents soon after. Ranbir, Karisma and Kareena must have wished to become an actor since their parents are one and mine are not. I went to America, studied there for two years and came back to assist Farah Khan in ‘Happy New Year’ (2014) and Karan Johar in ADHM (‘Ae Dil Hai Mushkil’ (2016). I spent a lot of time with Ranbir on the sets.”
Jain also spoke about how he managed to get his first break and landed ‘Qaidi Band’, “Shanoo Sharma (casting director) was looking for someone, and I bumped into her. She knew my family, but I met her when I was very young. She asked me what I want to do; I told her that I want to act. She called me to audition and it went on for three months. I did few scenes from ‘Salaam Namaste’ (2005), ‘Band Baaja Baaraat’ (2010) and Ishaqzaade (2012).”
“One fine day, I got a call from her and she asked me to meet Aditya Chopra. I honestly thought that he will screw me and suggest me not to do films, but surprisingly he told me that he and Habib sir liked my auditions and this is how I got the film,” he explained.
Set to hit the big screens on 25th August, ‘Qaidi Band’ also starts Anya Singh, Sachin Pilgoankar and Prince Parvinder Singh.
