Pakistan’s popular entertainment channel, A Plus has got a step closer to its UK launch on Sky Digital.

The channel has begun EPG data testing ahead of its official launch on Sky in January 2017. It is expected to begin video and audio testing next week, giving it a three week window of tests prior to launch. As revealed first on BizAsiaLive.com, A Plus UK will be added to the Sky EPG on Monday 23rd January 2017.

A Plus will be entering an already competitive market where the likes of Hum TV, Geo TV and ARY Digital are already fighting for audiences. While viewership for Hum TV has dropped considerably since it launched, Geo TV has gathered pace. ARY Digital currently is not registered with audience measuring body, BARB. A Plus is expected to go on BARB at launch, so the impact of the service on the current crop of channels will be made available within weeks after its launch.
