Box Office: Ranvir Shorey-Gracy Singh’s ‘Blue Mountains’ to release

Raujesh Jain’s multiple award-winning film ‘Blue Mountains’ is slated to release across the country on 7th April 2017. The film features acclaimed Bollywood actors Ranvir Shorey, Gracy Singh (of Lagaan fame), Rajpal Yadav and Yatharth Rathnam (Winner of The Stage, the country’s first English singing reality show) in pivotal roles.

Having garnered several awards at many prestigious film festivals, ‘Blue Mountains’, produced by Raujesh Jain, revolves around the journey of a young boy, Som, played by debutant Yatharth Rathnam, from a picturesque hill station who gets trapped in the vicious circle of “reality TV”. Suman Ganguli, the director, is excited about the film’s release. “I can’t wait for the audience to watch Blue Mountains, as it is a story about prevailing times. It is an uplifting tale of losing glory but finding redemption, which is the best way to live this crazy adventure called life.”

Raujesh Jain, the producer, is upbeat about the film’s theatrical prospects as well. “Blue Mountains is a story full of hope and beauty, that reinstates our belief that life is not just a rat race. It’s story that has been told not only with a lot of charm but also sensitivity by our director, and we are sure it will resonate with the audience.”

The music of the film has been composed by the late Adesh Srivastava, Monty Sharma and Sandeep Surya with playback by musical maestros such as Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal, Kailash Kher, Suraj Jagan, Sadhna Sargam and Yatharth Rathnam.

Just like the changing colours of the blue mountains through the changing seasons, the film explores changing human emotions beyond mere winning or losing in life. The film has travelled to various film festivals across the country, and won many awards including the Best Feature Film at the 19th International Children’s Film Festival.

Presented by Krish Movies, ‘Blue Mountains’ is slated to hit theatres across India on 7th April.

Synopsis: Som, a hill town boy accidentally gets selected in a television talent hunt. Som’s mother, once a celebrity singer, starts passing on her unfulfilled dreams to him. Unknowingly, Som is pushed into the vortex of ‘making of a celebrity singer’, by everyone from the sleepy hamlet. But Som’s quest for stardom ends faster that it had begun. He returns to his hometown unceremoniously. Once a dreamer of the Blue Mountains, Som sinks in the abyss of low self-esteem. Som’s parents, close friends, school teachers and well wishers take up the herculean task of reviving Som’s morale. By rediscovering the connection of music, he comes out victorious, returning to his old self as the hill town brat, scaling the highs of his blue mountains once again. Blue Mountains is for them who have not made it to the final of the most important talent hunt contest – called life. Blue Mountains is the story of the Olympics: “Participation is important, not winning”.
