UK TV Reach: Star Plus strong at No.1; A Plus crashes to zero

Star Plus remained dominant in pole position, while A Plus Europe plummeted to a new low, according to official BARB data for week ending Sunday 4th February 2018.

Star Plus delivered a weekly reach of 692,000 viewers – up from 642,000 viewers a week earlier. It was followed in the ratings by &TV with 338,000 viewers, Colors with 331,000 viewers, Zing with 271,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV with 269,000 viewers, Hum TV with 259,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 231,000 viewers, Rishtey with 229,000 viewers and Sony Entertainment Television with 226,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Hum Masala with 200,000 viewers, Star Bharat with 180,000 viewers, ATN Bangla with 179,000 viewers, ZEE TV with 174,000 viewers, Prime TV with 154,000 viewers, PTV Global with 148,000 viewers, Venus TV with 131,000 viewers, Geo TV with 122,000 viewers, ARY Family with 112,000 viewers, NTV Europe with 109,000 viewers, Geo Kahani with 96,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 71,000 viewers, Urdu 1 Europe with 67,000 viewers, TV 99 with 61,000 viewers, ZEE Punjabi tumbled to a record low of 17,000 viewers, while A Plus Europe crashed to a zero rating.

Movie genre
Star Gold remained the UK’s top Bollywood movie channel with a reach of 441,000 viewers – up from 410,000 viewers last week. It was followed by Sony MAX with 341,000 viewers, Rishtey Cineplex with 330,000 viewers, B4U Movies with 300,000 viewers and ZEE Cinema with 280,000 viewers.

Music genre
B4U Music slipped in its ratings but stayed top with a reach of 179,000 viewers – down from 230,000 viewers, followed by MTV Beats with 175,000 viewers, Brit Asia TV with 137,000 viewers and Sony Mix with 36,000 viewers.

News genre
Geo News clocked up a reach of 236,000 viewers firming up its position at No.1, followed by New Vision TV with 177,000 viewers, ABP News with 155,000 viewers and NDTV 24×7 with 133,000 viewers. 92 News was next with 125,000 viewers, followed by Aaj Tak with 96,000 viewers, Dunya News with 118,000 viewers, Samaa TV with 112,000 viewers, UK 44 with 42,000 viewers, Times Now with 30,000 viewers and News18 with 28,000 viewers.
