Bobby Deol on negativity surrounding ‘Race 3’

It was one of this year’s biggest successes in terms of box Office numbers. However, along with the praise and excitement there had been a lot of negativity surrounding ‘Race 3’ (2018), as soon as the trailers hit. Making his comeback was Bobby Deol, who recently caught up with the media to talk about it.

“I don’t know what happened. There was a lot of negativity for the film from the word go. I don’t know what it was, why it was. No film gets so much negativity before a release. It was being trolled for everything and anything,” Ahmedabad Mirror reports the actor stating.

Going on to say that the film’s success is down to one name, Deol added, “But Salman Khan’s power is Salman Khan’s power.”

Though it may have been Khan who had everyone glued to the screen, Deol’s performance was also one that didn’t go unnoticed. “No actor can be perfect in choosing things. It’s the audiences’ choice whether they like something or don’t. At the end of the day, it was my first Rs 200 crore plus film! For me, it was an exciting thing because millions of people saw me and the hard work was appreciated,” he said.

He went on, “You don’t want to hit a century and lose the match. You want your team to win. Sometimes even victories are not appreciated. I think ‘Race 3’ is like that — it was victorious, but wasn’t appreciated.”

Deol is now gearing up for the release ‘Yamla Pagla Deewana Phir Se’ with his father Dharmendra and brother Sunny Deol, which will hit the big screens on 31st August.
