Janhvi Kapoor keen on ‘Sadma’ remake

While Janhvi Kapoor’s first film ‘Dhadak’ is gearing for the premiere, the actress is hoping to literally follow in her mother’s footsteps and would love to remake one of Sridevi’s films for her next project.

At a promotional event, Kapoor was asked which Sridevi film she would love to star in. “It has to be ‘Sadma’ (1983).”, she told DNA, “It’s such a touching movie. I can watch it anytime and I think it’s one of the best films I’ve ever seen. I can play my mother’s role or even Kamalji’s (Haasan) role, if there’s a gender reversal in the remake.”

Speaking more on the classic film, Kapoor shared her first time watching ‘Sadma’ with India Today Television, “I didn’t talk to mom for two days after seeing the last scene. I was like, ‘How can you not recognise him?’”

Kapoor’s debut film ‘Dhadak’ releases on 20th July. The cast also includes Ishaan Khatter and Ashutosh Rana.
