Saif Ali Khan responds to ‘Sacred Games’ controversy

Having only recently released on Netflix, the Saif Ali Khan series ‘Sacred Games’, has already come under scrutiny from the Indian government. With the rumours going around, Khan recently spoke to the media about how he feels.

The makers of the show have been accused for depicting the life of late politician Rajiv Gandhi in a negative light, where his son even came out to speak about it. When questioned during an interview with The Quint, Khan expressed, “If you date someone from the wrong caste, somebody will kill you in some parts of India. That’s just the way it is. I don’t know how much you can criticise your government in India, somebody might kill you.”

He went on to add, “It will be deeply frustrating if something happens to the show. If someone says you can’t air this or if Netflix is discontinued. Then that will be my turn to be outraged.”

Already recieving rave reviews, here’s hoping Netflix are able to cope with Indian politics.
