Switzerland Tourism announces launch new campaign with Ranveer Singh

Today, Switzerland Tourism announced the launch of their new campaign for the year 2018-19 with brand ambassador Ranveer Singh. The campaign highlights Singh’s finest experiences from his recent trip to the Lake Geneva region, which includes the cities of Montreux and Lausanne.

Singh, the new-age, flamboyant poster-boy for old-world romance has a strong connect with Switzerland, immortalised as the most romantic destination for millions of Indians. As the face of the brand, Singh, has shown us all its facets — romance, adventure, culture, gastronomy, and wellness. Singh takes India on a virtual tour of Lake Geneva in the ad campaign and shows everyone why he is #inLOVEwithSWITZERLAND. The infectious enthusiasm with which Singh shot the ad, makes everyone’s inner traveler want to plan a trip to Switzerland right away.

“I am completely in awe of Switzerland. With each visit, I get to see different elements which makes me realize why this country is the perfect holiday destination that should be on every travelers’ bucket-list. This campaign beautifully portrays the Lake Geneva region and all that it has to offer. I would like everyone to experience this country the way I have so I have done a recap of my favorite moments in Switzerland. So, pack your bags and get ready to take-off,” said Ranveer Singh, the first Indian ambassador for Switzerland Tourism, while describing the campaign.

The campaign takes you through Ranveer’s recent trip to the French-speaking part of beautiful Switzerland – the Lake Geneva Region, which is a seamless melting pot of rich history, culture, cuisine, wine and music.

“In our last year’s campaign, Ranveer showcased the fun and adventurous side of Switzerland, whereas this time around we have highlighted one of Switzerland’s hidden gems – the Lake Geneva Region. This is a totally different part of Switzerland with a different language, a different cuisine and a different lifestyle. It’s a bit more relaxed and focuses on the finer things of life such as gastronomy and wine, music, culture and romance. We wanted Ranveer to experience this region as we think this is the perfect destination for Indian guests as it caters to all tastes. This goes to show that no matter what age you are, or what interests you have, Switzerland has something for everyone,” said Claudio Zemp, Director, Switzerland Tourism India.

The film, that can be viewed here, features Singh taking viewers through some of the most beautiful places to visit, be it Lausanne, Montreux, Château de Chillon, Lavaux Vineyards, Chaplin’s World, Olympic Museum, Queen’s Studio and Glacier 3000, among others. Singh is also seen soaking in the beauty and scenic views of the Swiss Riviera.

Furthermore, viewers can also catch a glimpse of the special ‘Ranveer on Tour’ train on the Golden Pass Line, now available for the world to hop on to. A special train was launched in Switzerland during his last trip as a tribute to his contribution to tourism promotion of Switzerland.

“We have had a fantastic association with Ranveer. We saw an increase of almost 25% in the overnights spent by Indians in Switzerland in 2017. We also see more and more Indians visiting lesser known destinations, exploring adventure, trying local gastronomy and in general staying longer in Switzerland. So, the message that we wanted Ranveer to convey has reached our audience and we are very happy about that,” said Ritu Sharma, Deputy Director, Switzerland Tourism India.
