ZEE Sandwell & Birmingham Mela 2018

Thousands of visitors will head to Victoria Park, Smethwick on 14th and 15th July for the ZEE Sandwell & Birmingham Mela.

The festival is a weekend extravaganza in the heart of the community that combines live international music performances, stalls, food, arts, community showcases, workshops and a funfair.

Over 100 artists and groups are set to perform at the event including Bollywood playback singer Richa Sharma, Punjabi Queen Miss Pooja, Roshan Prince, Pakistani star Ali Zafar, Shide Boss and more!

Bollywood playback singer Richa Sharma will be headline this year’s event at the main stage for the first time in UK. A second stage will showcase local talent from West Midlands from dance, singing, poetry and more.

Famous TV stars from ZEE TV will also be attending the Mela to meet and greet their UK fans. 50,000 people attended the two-day festival in 2017 and, now in its eighth year, the event is set to attract people from across the region and further afield.

Sandwell Council Leader Councillor Steve Eling said, “The ZEE Sandwell and Birmingham Mela is always a very popular event in the calendar – it’s an internationally-known event held in one of our Green Flag-awarded parks.

“Bringing people together and with a fantastic line-up of entertainment, this is a great event in the heart of Smethwick for the community to enjoy. I hope the weather will be good and the sun will shine on the Mela again this year.”
