Sara Ali Khan given the go-ahead to shoot for ‘Kedarnath’ & ‘Simmba’ simultaneously

As we know, Sara Ali Khan has been in a spot of bother with director Abhishek Kapoor over date issues, and was taken to court over it. Not something a debutante actress needs so early into her Bollywood career.

Reported on Asian Age, the disagreement came about following Ali Khan’s agent who gave bulk dates for shooting in June and July to both Kapoor and Karan Johar for ‘Simmba’, but when the young star signed her contract for ‘Kedarnath’, it had clearly stated she would give complete dates for this film before embarking on her other projects.

Rohit Shetty, director of ‘Simmba’, got involved and has managed to come to an agreement with Kapoor, which will allow Ali Khan to shoot for both film simultaneously.

A source from DNA India shared what happened, “When Kedarnath landed into trouble and was stalled after fallout between Abhishek Kapoor (Gattu) and Prernaa Arora, the agency that manages the newbie actress gave bulk dates in June and July to Rohit and Karan Johar for Simmba. Now that Ronnie Screwvala has come on board and is backing Kedarnath, Gattu and he wanted the same dates from Sara to complete their movie. They decided to take a legal recourse soon.”

The source further explains, “Rohit and Gattu had a talk. Ronnie, too, was present at the meeting. The three filmmakers met on Sunday to discuss the matter. Karan (Johar) couldn’t be there as he’s holidaying in the US. They have come to a mutual agreement.”

“Sara will shoot simultaneously for Kedarnath and Simmba. While she films Simmba, the Kedarnath team will complete the portions that don’t include her and vice versa. The directors have worked it out,” added the source.

Ali Khan is sure to be relieved that this issue has now been resolved. ‘Kedarnath’ also stars Sushant Singh Rajput and the film is slated to release in November 2018. ‘Simmba’ will see Ranveer Singh opposite Ali Khan and is slated to release a month later in December.
