Salman Khan’s ‘Loveratri’ faces protest over film title

Salman Khan’s upcoming production ‘Loveratri’ may be in trouble as it is facing protests over the title by The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP).

According to Mid-Day, Alok Kumar, International Working President of VHP said “We will not allow its exhibition in cinema halls in the country. We don’t want the sentiments of Hindus to be hurt.”, explaining that, “The movie is set against the backdrop of Navratri, a Hindu festival, and the name distorts its meaning.”. VHP was also involved in protests against ‘Padmaavat’ (2018)

‘Loveratri’ is the debut film of Warina Hussain and Khan’s brother-in-law Aayush Sharma, who is married to Khan’s sister Arpita Khan. The film is schedule to release on 5th October.
