UK TV Reach: Star Plus extends lead again over rivals; Sony TV stays strong

Star Plus bounced back up in latest weekly reach data in the UK, while Sony Entertainment Television stayed strong at No.2, according to official BARB data for week ending Sunday 13th May.

Star Plus delivered a weekly reach of 580,000 viewers – up from 503,000 viewers, followed by Sony TV with 350,000 viewers, Hum TV with 313,000 viewers, Colors with 301,000 viewers and &TV with 283,000 viewers. The next tier consisted of ZEE TV with 219,000 viewers, Zing with 186,000 viewers, Star Bharat with 184,000 viewers, Geo TV with 168,000 viewers, Sony SAB TV with 160,000 viewers, Rishtey with 156,000 viewers, Venus TV with 144,000 viewers, Hum Masala with 138,000 viewers and ATN Bangla with 121,000 viewers.

The bottom tier consisted of Iqra TV with 106,000 viewers, PTV Global with 94,000 viewers, Prime TV with 91,000 viewers, Geo Kahani with 73,000 viewers, PTC Punjabi with 69,000 viewers, Akaal Channel with 62,000 viewers, ARY Family with 48,000 viewers, Living Foodz with 30,000 viewers, Urdu 1 Europe with 23,000 viewers and TV 99 with zero.

Movie genre
Sony MAX remained the most watched South Asian movie channel with a reach of 366,000 viewers, followed by Star Gold with 329,000 viewers, ZEE Cinema with 313,000 viewers, B4U Movies with 272,000 viewers and Rishtey Cineplex with 241,000 viewers.

Music genre
B4U Music stayed ahead with a reach of 212,000 viewers, followed by BritAsia TV with 145,000 viewers, Sony Mix with 115,000 viewers and MTV Beats with 54,000 viewers.

News genre
Geo News led the South Asian news genre with 149,000 viewers, followed by New Vision TV with 140,000 viewers, ABP News with 129,000 viewers, Dunya News with 117,000 viewers, Samaa TV with 115,000 viewers, NDTV 24×7 with 92,000 viewers, Aaj Tak with 70,000 viewers, UK 44 with 57,000 viewers, 92 News with 56,000 viewers and News18 with 26,000 viewers.
