Mamta Kulkarni loses property worth over Rs. 20 crore

The Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) court has ordered the attachment of properties of Mamta Kulkarni for failing to appear in court for the second time.

Kulkarni is the prime accused in a Rs 2,000 crore drug bust case filed in 2016, when the police raided Avon Lifesciences Ltd. in Maharashtra and found approximately 18 tonnes of ephedrine. The police believe that Kulkarni was assisting her husband Vicky Goswami with manufacturing and exporting the drug. The couple are rumoured to currently be in Mombassa, Kenya.

The court will now hold Kulkarni’s property during the course of the trial. The actress will lose out on her three flats if the case is decided against her, First Post reported. The application seeking attachment of properties was on hold since 2017, after Kulkarni and Goswani were declared as absconding for failing to appear at the first hearing.
