Kanika Kapoor in legal trouble for skipping event

Kanika Kapoor, along with her agent and manager, has attracted some legal trouble from an event management company in Noida.

The company has filed a complaint against Kapoor, her agent and Santosh Mijger, manager of a Mumbai-based event management company, under sections 420 (cheating), 406 (criminal breach of trust) and 507 (criminal intimidation) at a police station in Aligarh. Allegedly, Kapoor had received Rs 24.95 lakh from the event management firm in Noida to perform at an exhibition on 22nd January. Complainant Manoj Sharma claims that the singer did not show up for her commitment and has not returned the fee associated with the event.

Previously, notices regarding this issue were sent by S B Singh, Additional District Magistrate (ADM) City to Kapoor, her team, Mijger, and Sharma. The notice requested for a refund of Rs 24.95 lakh and compensation of an additional Rs. 24.95 lakh, Times of India reported. According to Singh, “The singer and the Noida and Mumbai-based event management companies have cheated us and breached our trust, damaging the administration’s image.” In response, Sharma and his Noida company is planning to file a defamation lawsuit against Kapoor as well, for ruining his reputation in the city.
