Overnights: Star Plus delivers best ratings of 2018 so far on Thursday

Despite the increasing competition in the UK Asian TV market, Star Plus delivered its best ratings of 2018 so far yesterday, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .

The channel delivered a share of 0.34% – nearly double the share it was registering a few days ago. Star Plus’ strategy to beef up its afternoon programmes with re-run of classic shows, seems to be working a treat. Also, the channel’s primetime fiction line-up is also connecting well with viewers. On Thursday, Star Plus’ top rated show was ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ at 19:30 with 128,800 viewers, followed by ‘Naamkarann’ at 21:00 with 106,100 viewers, ‘Tu Sooraj Mein Saanjh Piyaji’ at 19:00 with 100,600 viewers and ‘Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala’ at 20:30 with 91,700 viewers.

Star Plus’ afternoon slot was led by ‘Veera’ at 13:00 with 33,600 viewers, followed by ‘Diya Aur Baati Hum’ at 14:30 with 26,800 viewers and ‘Pardes Mein Hai Mera Dil’ at 13:30 with 25,800 viewers.

Star Plus’ share was four times more than its second placed rival, Hum TV. The Pakistani broadcaster dominated the Pakistani TV genre on Thursday with a share of 0.08%. ‘Kankar’ remained the top show with 26,500 viewers at 21:00, followed by ‘Teri Meri Kahani’ at 22:00 with 22,100 viewers.

Brit Asia TV, Star Bharat and Rishtey all registered 0.05%, compared to Colors with 0.04%.

Sony Entertainment Television clocked in 0.03% and ZEE TV with just 0.01%.
