Ankita Lokhande: “I’ll always be grateful to TV”

Ankita Lokhande is one of the most popular television actors. She won hearts with her portrayal of Archana in the show ‘Pavitra Rishta’ (2009). Now, she will soon make her Bollywood debut with Kangna Ranaut’s film, ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.’
Whilst talking the media, Lokhande said that even if she is doing films, she will always be grateful to the small screen. “It’s because films have a larger audience and give more exposure. Films are a worldwide medium and it’s always good to experience new things in your career. I’ll always be grateful to TV as whatever popularity I have today is because of my serial, I hope that the same will follow after the audience sees my work in films,” said Lokhande.
In  ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi,’ Lokhande will be seen playing the role of Jhalkari Bai, reports Pinkvilla. Talking about her role, she said, “I’d never heard of her before, not many have, but Jhalkaribai was one of the greatest heroes of our proud history. I’m honoured that I’ll be telling her story to the world, fighting alongside Kangna’s Rani Laxmibai.”
Recently at an event when Lokhande was asked about her co-star Ranaut. she stated, “She’s a professional on the sets. And you can only see Rani Laxmibai on the sets.”
She further said, “Kangna is the hero of the film, and she’s launching me as the heroine of this film. I’m assuming I’m the heroine now! It’s not tough to launch someone, but it’s important to give the right platform, which I’ve got. I’m playing the role of Jhalkaribai in the film, and it’s a fabulous part. I’m working very hard for my role.”
The movie releases 27th April.
