Overnights: Movies push ZEE TV to No.2 on Saturday in UK

ZEE TV’s strategy to air more movies during weekend afternoons seems to be working well, according to exclusive data obtained by BizAsiaLive.com .

In Saturday’s ratings, ZEE TV witnessed a surge in its share, which stood at 0.07% – higher than in recent weeks. It was blockbuster movies ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun’ and ‘Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak’ that gave the channel a much needed push. The first film starring Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit at midday attracted 16,400 viewers, followed by the Aamir Khan and Juhi Chawla romance at 16:00 attracting 9,400 viewers. ‘Out and About’ at 19:30 delivered 10,100 viewers and ‘Dance India Dance’ at 19:30 with 9,900 viewers.

Star Plus bounced back to a share of 0.22% with ‘Yeh Hai Mohabbatein’ taking the lead with 113,600 viewers and ‘Tu Sooraj Mein Saanjh Piyaji’ pulling in 105,600 viewers. ‘Tumhari Paakhi’ dominated afternoon ratings with 61,600 viewers at 15:00.

Colors delivered a share of 0.04% with ‘Rising Star 2’ at 21:00 raking in 22,500 viewers.

Geo TV and Hum TV both delivered a share of 0.02%, while Sony Entertainment Television could manage just 0.01%.
